This is a Deluxe version of the original Pentel Conversion Mandrel. It removes the possibility of crushing the threads on your mandrel. A chuck attachment area has been added to the mandrel for mounting in your collet or drill chuck on your lathe.

The mandrel is set up for use after drilling with the step drill or other drilling methods such as the popular 2 drill bit method using a long 1/4 inch bit. They are threaded for 1/4 x 28 on one end and 8-32 on the other. This ad is for the mandrel only as most penturners have the nuts and a slimline bushing already or the nuts can be picked up locally.
